I was playing with the division of the canvas into sections when the idea of painting people in the form of cards came to me. This painting depicts a love story. I was exploring symbolism and lettering at the time also, hence the Latin phrases which mean "dare to know" and "love conquers all". The sides are painted so it needs no framing. The finish is glossy.
