The soft colour changes in the background allow the glassware to pop off the canvas. The glass is painted loosely in a painterly style to avoid stiffness. I had fun arranging glasses from my own cupboard on my studio table on a black cloth when composing this piece. The sides are painted in gallery wrapped fashion so no framing is necessary. The finish is satin.
